A woman from Key West won a bikini contest sponsored by the Dallas Bull, but two women from closer to home, including one from Dover, were right behind.

Chennel Arundel of Key West won the top $1,500 prize, followed by Courtney Buckingham of Tampa, who won $750 for second place, and Carly Brauner of Dover, who won $250 for third, Dallas Bull spokeswoman Elizabeth Edwards said.

The country honky-tonk, owned by in part by Plant City businessman Ed Verner, is billed as Tampa's most popular nightclub with 20,000 customers a month.

Twenty women entered the contest, which was judged by sponsors, members of the LoCash Cowboys band that played that night, and others, Edwards said.

The July 16 contest was so popular that the bar at 3322 U.S. 301 N. may make it an annual event, Edwards said.'
